Bringing in the Bystander Workshop
October 18 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Bringing in the Bystander™ is an effective, interactive prevention workshop that is based on the concept that all community members have a role to play in preventing sexual violence. Student participants learn the importance of speaking out against social norms that support sexual violence, to become aware of and identify potential risks in various situations, to develop empathy and support for persons who have experienced violence, and explore how to safely interrupt or intervene in situations that can lead to sexual violence.
This workshop meets the Consent Culture requirements for UMGSA Councilors.
There is a limit of 25 spots, which will first be allocated to UMGSA councilors: though all are welcome to RSVP if they are interested (with the note that you are not guaranteed a spot in the workshop).
Those who RSVP will receive an email including a Zoom link to the event closer to the chosen date.
